How do you update your bios

Can anyone tell me how to update my bios? I have downloaded the current drivers, opening them in windows just flashes the doss prompt really fast. Do I need to flash my bois, if so how do you do that??

If you need to ask, you probably shouldn't be doing it.

Most manufacturers include detailed instructions on the page where you can download the new BIOS.

If you don't need the update, it's better to leave well enough alone. With a bad flash, you'll end up with a useless, out of warranty, paper weight.

Go to shuttle's site and read the instructions closely. Then read them again. Then go to a couple of other motherboard makers and read their proceedures for reference. You can't be too careful doing a flash. If any of that looks deeper than you can handle, then don't do it.

If you're on windows XP, create an MS Dos boot disk. Download the drivers and put them on that disk. From there, you're in true dos. Run the exe file on the flash utility, and follow the insturctions.
