How do you watch your non-wide TV on your wide TV?

Stretch it. Initially it was strange but now I have gotten used to of it.

Stretch with center bias(My tv does it pretty well so its not that noticiable). The black bars really bother me.

This I don't understand. Your TV, does it have plastic surrounding the screen? Is it black? Or maybe silver? It is presumably near a wall. That wall - is it painted? Why is it that the black bars on the TV bother you, but the TV's bezel and the wall around it don't bother you?

When I get mine, it will be black bars for sure. I hate how bars and hotels always set it to stretch... it looks like crap!

It just feels incomplete. My TV is slate grey and the walls are white but it just seems like I'm not using all the available potential/screen real estate/pixels that bothers me.

I just dont like seeing the frame, 12" of black nothingness and then suddenly a picture.

Enjoy your distorted picture.

Seriously. What the hell could possibly be *less* distracting than black? It's plain black in a dark room. There is absolutely nothing else that could go in that space that would be less distracting than black.

How is that more distracting than everyone in the movie looking 33% fatter than they are?

The TV is in my living room. Windows and lights everywhere. That and its rear projection so when ti hits the screen its'n not always pitch black but sometimes very dark grey. The center bias stretch causes stretch more in the sides of the picture andless in the middle so for the most part it dosnet look too bad, that and I'm used to seeing slightly fatter people on TV.

Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie look and supermodels almost healthy weight if they stand in the right spot on my TV!

Stretch w/ center bias is (admittedly) quite good.......on a PIO ELITE!!!!!

Can't speak for others as I've only seen them either "stretched" or "shadow boxed".

Of course, the Pio Elite resolves a LOT of things better than any other HD panel I've ever seen in my life..........(and, yes, I've seen a lot).

If I had a Pio Elite, I'd probably do stretch/center bias and be happy.

As it is, I simply watch 4:3 on 200lbs of WEGAmania!
