How doea the Voodoo3 3000 with SGRAM compair?

I just picked up a Voodoo3 3000 PCI for a Christmas gift for a buddy and it has SGRAM on it. Four SEC chips on the top of the board. Does anyone know how this card compares to the version with SDRAM? How do you think it will overclock?

Just for the record I bought it new and opened it to test it and make sure it isn't dead. We will be spending Christmas together and wanted to use the card that day. Also bought NFSV for him.

It will be a bit faster than an sdram card(3-4% maybe more) but it wont o/c as high as sdram.

It's a v3 3000 PCI, how high do you think it will go? Do you think 183 is likely?

183 is likely mine used to do 187 without aditional cooling(with case covr off and cool room) in it's younger days. I think I damaged the chip it only runs at 170 now and I leave it at 166 since 4mhz isnt worth it.

The SDRAM versions came with two ram types; 6ns and 5.5ns. The 5.5ns versions did 183 easily. Check the SGRAM chips and see if there is a similar marking. The large 3000 heatsink is up to the task as far as cooling goes.

I already mounted a small fan on it. It actually still fit in the original plastic container with the fan on it.

I think it has 6ns ram.
