How does America stop it's destruction from Trump ripping it apart at the very seams

This guy is just attacking anything and everything about America from our very constitution to our harmony.

It really seems that trying to reason with his crazies is like trying to argue with a parrot.

It might have seemed funny, entertainment at one point but when people are actually getting physically hurt by the hateful rhetoric.. when do we say enough is enough.

Do enough of us in America oppose him or there's just not enough of us? How can he be stopped? Can he be stopped?

Considering, at best, he's got 27% of the Republican base support it is safe to say that there are plenty of sane people to ensure that he has zero chance of becoming president.

No need to worry! The BEST way for him to be stopped would actually him becoming president. It would be the best opportunity to actually demonstrate how incompetent and stupid he is and that *nothing* of his Kindergarten proposals for whatever problems are actually viable.

It would also be the best way to accelerate/ensure the total collapse of the US (on various levels) making way for a total restructure of US politics and your silly two party system, which IMHO is urgently needed.

This "entire collapse" would unfortunately be very slowed down with, say, Clinton. Seems that sometimes people really NEED to be hit over the head hard until they realize things.

If it makes you feel any better, I'm sure they feel the same way about trying to reason with you.

The disconnect between ends of the political spectrum is really something to see. This post for example, rife with hyperbole, illustrates a complete lack of understanding of a large swath of America. Call the ideas wrong if you will, but to dismiss somewhere around 1/3 of the country as insane is not doing your own cognitive processes any favors.

According to one forum member, 30% of the population is considered marginal and fringe.

I want to see Trump become president. I think he's got the nomination. The general election should be entertaining if nothing else.

It's 30% of the Republican primary electorate, not 30% of the population. Very very different.

We may not be looking at the same numbers. At any rate, to dismiss one's ideological opponents as merely insane can't promote thought or further a discussion. Understanding why people think the way they do can help sharpen ones own arguments, and even lead to different ways of thinking.

Thread title is a bit extreme. We've survived quite a bit. Watergate & Nixon prove that an executive that wants total control will fail.

Everyone ought to take a look at this poll by Ipsos. Strikingly, there is significant support in the Democratic party for many of the nativist sentiments which are currently propelling Trump's campaign.

We understand how they think, there is science behind it even! What we don't know is how to communicate with people who make their decisions based on fear and group think. Facts certainly don't work. The only thing I have ever seen change a righties mind has been their own personal experience (see Christie and his quest for helping drug addicts, see Cheney and his support for gay people, see rubios support for immigration).

If you can effectively argue against them then you really should be in politics, the dems would pay you a pretty penny if your process works.

I'd want you to recognize that some of "them" are also some of "you":

As per usual this attack is exactly what Obama is guilty of. Instead of attacking mom and apple pie he attacks the unborn and any lunch worth eating!

I want the wall Reagan promised us and Democrats agreed to in the 80s. Trump will do it if only to save his reputation.
I want the US military to be capable.
I want to vote for Trump. i think he has love for the USA.
I want Trump to be President of the United States and to do just these things and I will be happy.
If he could straighten out or eliminate the EPA, Dept of education, and EEOC that would be icing on the cake and the country would benefit for decades to come.

He isn't ripping anything apart.

He is uniting the bigots, racists and oppressors in the US.

If he does win the election, sit back and watch your boys and girls head off into the Middle East. A leader who won't admit he is wrong is usually sitting on top of the corpses of his own people.

Those aren't the people we have to worry about, they rarely come out and vote. Do you see the left pandering to these idiots? No? Why do you think that is? (Hint: I just gave you the answer)

Btw, nobody has a monopoly on stupid

My view on Trump is how could he be worse than any of the other schmucks. He actually may shake things up and get things going in the right direction. Hell knows the last 20+ years we didn't head in the right direction.
