To get internet access, we had to watch a video on how to use a cable box and then return the cable box we were supplied with......It wasn't long (about 1.5 hours) before i took teh phone from my gf and started bitching and moaning....after a half hour, I finally got the internet up.

BTW: I looked at my bill, and i was suppsoed to get the digital silver package AND Starz...worst customer support ever.

Sad as it is to say it, I'm not surprised by that at all.

I'm paying ~$50 for DirecTV Total Choice+Locals+HBO+Showtime plus two DirecTivos. No complaints.

41.99 total choice + locals
12 1st premium
11 2nd premium
?? + unknown cost for additional receivers

!= 50 bucks more like 64+. So in reality DTv is just as expensive as cable. Why do people lie about what they pay for DTV are they trying to make themselves feel better?

Not lieing. It's called a retention plan.

$41.99 + $4.99 for extra receiver + $5.99 for DVR - $5 retention + $2 for HBO & Showtime.

You don't hear anything good about DirecTV?

Here's one: NFL sunday Ticket - now with 30-minute games where you can replay an entire game without commercials, timeouts, etc. in about 30 minutes.

/end thread

All of this can be yours for only $300 more per season.

At least with Direct TV you'll get all the games available rather than just those that Comcast wants to show. I made the mistake of buying the MLB package on digital cable so I could watch all of the Washington Nationals games and guess what? They're blacked out because Comcast is refusing to make a deal. To the point where they're being called back into court a second time on it after a judge already ruled against them.

Obviously, at least one person.

Snap.

They stay in business for the same reason AOL does. Some people just don't have the mental capacity to understand what they are paying for.

I remember when paying $20 was too much for cable.

The costs of cable is worse than rising gas prices. If it weren't for my cable modem, I would just put up an antennae and get 3 or 4 channels because I rarely watch tv.

Around here Comcast is the only high speed internet provider, so its either dial up or comcast. No DSL available.

Comcast's local monopolies only exist by grace of government.

Not sure what you are looking at....but

"Digital Silver w/HBO, Showtime, Cinemax 3 Onscreen Guide $81.95 "

The package on Comcast.com has 3 premium channels (everything but stars) for $81.95.

Cable TV pricing is not regulated along each comcast market, which is why the pricing is different.

And ComCast is in business because they don't care about the small majority of customers... 3+ million, 2 modem IP ranges... But gods I hate working for them in a third party call center.
