Hey everyone, I'm looking into a laptop for college next year. I will be studying engineering. I'd like this computer to last at least 2 years. This Dell D600 is the discounted system I can get for $1400
* 1.6 GHz P-M Dothan (725)
* 512MB RAM
* 40GB HD
* ATi Mobility 9000 32MB
* 8-24-24-24X DVD/CD-RW Combo
* Wi-Fi
* 14.1" Display (assuming XGA)
* MS Windows XP Pro
* MS Office 2003 Professional
* 3 Year Standard Warranty + Accidental Damage
I can also upgrade to a P-M 1.8GHz (745) and a 60GB HD for a grand total of $1600.
Is this my best option for the $1500 price range, assuming I want better battery life than the A64 notebooks?
Is the $200 for the 200MHz and 20GB worth it?
Anyone have any problems regarding the D600's construction, overheating, keyboard, etc.?
