Yes. What fun would it be if I didn't build it myself? Building a computer is half the fun!

Thats why I said:

For everyone who thinks I am wasting my money please suggestion to me a system I could build with a better bang for the buck and not wasting my money ?

I know a lot of people says its usually bad to go with the top of the line everything because its very expersive and you can get a little less performence for a lot better bang for the buck.

Woah.. thought I did an over kill spending close to $2000...

What are you doing with the pc, ie justify spending that many $$$!!! people are right. if you're just trying to make the ultimate system, wait til autumn. dual 6800's, new intel and amd chips, 10ms lcd's, christ, even my amd 64 3200+ went from £190 (when i bought it) it £147 in a week! this rig might crash price by $500 in a week!

As for spending that much money on anything that isnt an investment that will bring you monetary returns? think of the poor kids in africa! you should send them your old one to compensate!

me? i sponser a few panda's in hong kong and china. i figure, if we breed enough? we can feed the little kids in africa something nice!!

Gaming, doing a lot of things at once like running a lot of different programs at once and when I say a lot i mean a lot without slowing down. At least 10 to 30 if thats possible without slowing down. Like for example being I want to beable to burn a dvd or cd, download a game demo of around 100 to 200 MB, run antivirus in the background while real scanning my system, aim, play a game, etc all at the same time without slowing down at all or very little if possible. DVD movie watching, etc as well.

I want no slow downs when my hard drive starts getting full.

This post seems like a hoax where you have just picked all the highest spec compentents. Assuming it is not;

I have just been researching a new PC and decided that a 3500+ was much better value than the FX-53 because there is a big price difference over nearly (3 times in UK) and you only get a slight performance benefit. Granted there are some benefits with FX.

Do you really need to burn 2 DVDs at the same time if you are planning on mass producing/copying DVDs then I am sure you will be better off with a dedicate system for that job.

Are you going to really need nearly 600GB of space that is all used regularly. How much space do you currently use on your system, assuming it is nothing near that what are you going to be doing on your new system that will require all that extra space. If you need the space for backup or archiving you would be better off with a seperate dedicated file server.

Can't imagine that you will need a whole 4GB or RAM most people are currently going dor 1GB if you think you are going to need a lot perhaps go fo 2 but 4 is overkill.

You want to run all these programs at once thing like AIM, anti-virus, and downloading these are not going to use much resources (I run things like this all the time on my 866MHz PIII without really noticeing them. I can't image you are going to be watching a DVD and playing a game at the same time. You will all ways get some performance hit if you run lots of thing it doesn't matter how powerful your system is. If this is your main concern then you should look at a Multi processor system.

Giantwasp Thanks. Its just useful to have two dvd drives when you need it. I know it wouldn't ujsed everyday becauses that ot what I am doing with them but I can see your point now.

Thanks.

Maybe you should just build 4 computers & buy a KVM switch, then you can run a bunch of programs without any slowdowns.

Um, I'd switch out one dvd burner for a faster 16x/48x DVD-ROM drive and with that $ I'd get an Audigy 2ZS Platinum Pro (or whatever it's called) instead of a TB Santa Cruz.

Your money would be much better spent on dual or even quad Opterons than those 8 SCSI hard drives and 4GB of RAM. If you're spending $10,000 on a computer it had better have more than one CPU IMO.

Another option would be to go with dual Xeons w/ PCI-E; there is a motherboard out there that will allow nVidia's SLI configuration when the PCI-E 6800s are released.

Just make sure that the Opteron motherboard has an AGP slot and you're set.

I would get an Apple Cinema Display over the Samsung, but that's just personal preference (plus the Apple has 16ms response time).
