Isn't it pronounced 'statue'?

Kramer: Anyway, it's been two years. I mean isn't there like statue of limitations on that?

Jerry: Statute.

Kramer: What?

Jerry: Statute of limitations. It's not a statue.

Kramer: No, statue.

Jerry: Fine, it's a sculpture of limitations.

Kramer: Just wait a minute...Elaine, Elaine! Now you're smart, is it statue or statute of limitations?

Elaine: Statute.

Kramer: Oh, I really think you're wrong.

I don't think so.

stat·ute
/'stæt?ut, -?t/ Show Spelled Pronunciation [stach-oot, -oot] Show IPA Pronunciation
?noun
1. Law.
a. an enactment made by a legislature and expressed in a formal document.
b. the document in which such an enactment is expressed.
2. International Law. an instrument annexed or subsidiary to an international agreement, as a treaty.
3. a permanent rule established by an organization, corporation, etc., to govern its internal affairs.

stat·ue
/'stæt?u/ Show Spelled Pronunciation [stach-oo] Show IPA Pronunciation
?noun
a three-dimensional work of art, as a representational or abstract form, carved in stone or wood, molded in a plastic material, cast in bronze, or the like.

Considering how well statute fits in context I would say I'm 99.99999% sure

Is there someplace that you can see the applicable Statutes of Limitation in your given state? In my case Georgia.

Isn't it pronounced 'statue'?

for all intensive purposes

It's a mute point.

Kudos for using an incorrect spelling/pronunciation AND the commonly-used incorrect definition!

Well I think I found the answer to my question. Good news! They shouldn't be able to charge me for fraud anymore! Take that general office supply store which I will not name! (They have known about)
