On Cinebench R23 the Core i9 12900K scores around 2000 points. Simular story on geekbench.

The i9 12900K has a single core turbo boost of 5.2 GHz.

So I assume that the above 2000 points were achieved with 5.2 GHz Turbo Boost.

Can anyone do the single core benchmark by disabling turbo boost, and making it run at the base clock ?

CBR23 scales linearly so all you do is devide 2000/5.2 then multiply by the required Ghz and you will get an accurate number. for example I get 1846 points if I do the math at 4.8 Ghz

(1) Turbo Boost lasts only for a few seconds right. From what i know, That max turbo boost kicks in when you need to get something done very quickly. The CPU clocks up all the way to max turbo ( 5.2 GHz in this case ) for a few seconds and then clocks down ( to prevent overheating and damage ). Obviously the Cinebench test lasts longer than a few seconds, so the 2000 point score is not reflective of the 5.2 GHz clock ?

(2) Or does it run throughout the benchmark indeed with 5.2 GHz ?

Since it's the single core benchmark, only one core will be active ; and the other cores are sleeping or running at low clocks doing background tasks. So that one core can sustain 5.2 GHz throughout the test with no problem ?

Which is correct (1) or (2) ?

You have motherboards that follow Intel specs and cuts tubro after the set time has passed and motherboards that let turbo go on indefinitely (if temps are ok).

In this case is 5.2 Ghz just one core for the entire CBR23 ST Run, it will not exceed 45 Watts so it will not down clock

Yup, as nicalandia above already said, at single you use too few watts for turbo to run out.
