How far can a GF2 GTS OC?

Title says it all...I was just wondering how fast I could make my card.

i had a GTS about 8 months ago and i posted the same question, and as nobody answered i had to find out for myself.
anyway,

most GTS cards will do you to 220mhz on the core ,at least

the memory however is a mixed bag, depending on both the "ns" rating of the chips and the cooling that they have.
i invested in two sets of thermaltake DDR ramsinks and attached them to both sides of my GTS (creative). and the best i could get was 350mhz with no artifacts. i was hoping for at least 400mhz to compare with the PRO cards but i couldnt get it there.

I heard of some GTS card reaching 400mhz but they are rare. if you want some info on overclockig your card specificly, then look on the net for a review of your card in particular. then just look at the overclocking section of the review.

Thanks...my core is already 200 (stock speed) but my mem is up to 366 and its doing fine. The mem chips are 6 ns and dont have any cooling on them but I do have good air flow around the card.

you must have a better quality card than mine, but then again, creative arnt known for overclockability.

you might be able to overclock further if you get some tweak monster ram sinks(not BGA ones) and a crystal orb.
As well as matching colours (silver), you will be able to overclock slightly further and prolong the component lifespan.

At 200/400 I get those little weird pixel thingie watchamacallit artifacts.

I'm still testing the stability on this.

Well I actually dont know the brand. I got if off one of those Hot Deals posted a few months ago...it was like $50 after shipping. No one knew the brand but it has tv-out and it seemed like a good deal.

FYI, OC'ing the core on the GTS provides very minimal gains in performance. The cards are very memory bandwidth limited so the vast majority of gain is to be had by OC'ing the memory.

I've had 3 GTS's of different flavors.

Old creative GTS with "square" 6ns DDR, memory would hit 390
Visiontek GTS-V with the "square" 5.5ns DDR, memory would hit 360
Visiontek GTS 64MB which I just got from ENPC, $53 shipped. 5ns memory is stable somewhere between 420 and 450 (saw some artifacts at 460 and I'm trying to figure out the max speed now).

Ya, I got some artifacts at 375, but it seems ok at 366.
