How fast can you run 100 meters?

The first time I ever ran it was in 8th Grade, grass track no spikes 13 seconds.

I ran in HS for awhile got around 11 and 12, can't remember specifically though.

When I was coaching young men and women in Air Force basic training, I saw a young man run it in 10.5 seconds. Does that count?

I'm surprised nobody is spouting off about how they can run 100m in 10.5s (someone in the army is different... I'm sure they're in great physical shape and probably train at that type of thing). On some track and field boards there are lots of people claiming to be 14 yrs old and that they run the 100m in under 10.5s. Which is either extremely rare or impossible for someone that age. Make sure when you run such a short distance that it is: properly timed and properly measured (not 100yds).

In track & field I ran the 110M hurdles and long and triple jump, but wasn't fast enough to do the sprints. When I was 13 I ran the 100M in 13 secs.
