~115 in my 92 Nissan Sentra (not too healthy for it so I quickly backed off.)
~128 in my mom's 92 Camry (very scary handling at that speeds)
~110 in my wife's 97 Accord (surprising smooth except for the engine noise.)

<< Not to be a tool or anything, but how do you know you did 185?

Your bike specs from another thread:

<< 2000 Suzuki Bandit 1200, it has a Holshot header and exhaust, gsxr cams, holeshot ignition advancer, K&N pod filters with with holeshot stage 2 jet kit, the bike was $7000 and the mods about $1500, I have a big bore kit in the shop ready to put it in. Don't know what the topspeed is, the speedo goes to 170mph, and it will go well past that >>

Reviews gave the Bandit 12 a dyno rating of about 110-115 hp and a top speed of about 145mph....and while you have undoubtedly given your bike a good kick in the pants hp-wise with the mods you made, I can't believe you added enough to get a bike that un-aerodynamic to go that fast. The Hayabusa makes a little over 150hp at the rear wheel, is extremely aerodynamic (for a bike anyway) and has a top speed of 189mph...only 4 more that you're claiming.

Obviously everyone on this thread is exaggerating a bit, but 185 on a Bandit is just about impossible without some serious mods. You'd need to be pulling over 160hp at the rear wheel to overcome the aerodynamics and get it up into 'Busa territory.

You are correct, it was about 185mph on the speedo, which actual would be about 170mph give or take a couple mph.

137mph / 130mph -- 1992 Vauxhall Cavalier 2.0i (downhill / flat)
123mph -- restricted (for now!!) 1992 Mitsubishi GTO TwinTurbo

Anyone mentioning 180kph... that's 112.5mph -- which is also the Japanese speed limit. I compared my speedo on the GTO to a friend driving alongside me in my Cavalier. The GTO was reading 10% less due to incorrect recalibration or tyre radius. Thus when it hits the 112 speedo-restriction limit, it's actually doing roughly 123mph.

All speeds are in MPH as indicated by the car's speedometer:

110-115 in a 73 Charger with a 318 and auto. Scary old POS. HS friend's car, he was driving.

Top speed of an 87 Civic sedan (~75 HP, 5 spd.) is about 97-99. Friend driving his mother's car. We were a bit disappointed.

120 in an 89 Accord LXi (~125 HP, 5 speed). It had a little left, but I started thinking rationally :Q and got scared because it was so dark out (rural interstate, no moon, couldn't see, etc.), so I slowed down. My car, going solo.

Top speed of an 89 Civic LX (92 HP, 5 spd.) is about 105-108. My car, solo.

Top speed of a 92 Civic LX (102 HP, 5 spd.) is about 110-115. My car, solo.

Forgot: I had a new Altima 3.5 (240 HP, 5 spd.) up to about 115-120 recently. That's a sedan with a serious engine. I don't know how fast it could go, but I wasn't feeling dumb enough to find out. Solo, not my car.

~110MPH in my Neon Sport (definitely had more in it but the tires aren't exactly rated for much more)

~110MPH as driver in another's Infiniti G20... that thing is NOT stable at high speed!

I've prolly hit 60 a few times on skis... =p

It was in a turn and I was going all out to the outside of the turn. Instead of a U turn, the boat did a donut. I finally couldn't hold onto the rope any longer and went down HARD. Luckly I was close enough to shore (after I finally stopped skipping and tumbling) that I could dog paddle to shore.

I didn't ski anymore that day!!

182 mph radar indicated on a modified Kaw ZX-11.

Over 160 mph several times on various bikes.

Over 100 mph several times on one wheel on various bikes.

You should ask if it's speedo indicated or actual. Big difference at those speeds.. The 182 mph run was showing close to 200 mph on the speedo.

80 in a 50 zone with an early 90s Hyundai in Driver's Ed. The teacher made me slow down because I went into a tunnel and there was a turn coming up.

120mph, '92 Jeep cherokee.

70mph on my trek 5200 road bike, yes that is human powered, no engine. Course I had a little gravity assist from the 20% grade downhill. Taking the switchbacks in the mountains at 70mph on a two wheel 20lb machine is scary as hell :Q
