I've heard some of their live recodings..they sound great.
How do they sound in person?
Are they worth the price of admission?

I believe they don't tour anymore. Get the new dvd, or watch some of it on PBS when it airs.

they're incredible (at least from the videos I've seen, never been to one of their shows). Pick up the new PULSE DVD, it's well worth the money.

You try getting two egomaniacs in the same room together without them pulling out each other's dentures.

I've seen Pink Floyd twice (in the 80's) and they were excellent.

I just recently saw 'Wish You Were Here' which is an EXCELLENT 'tribute' band to Pink Floyd. They play a lot of the early stuff (Syd Barrett days) and they usually play the entire Dark Side album start to finish. The really cool thing is that, while they stay true to the feeling of each song, they do what Floyd did and 'improvise' a bit. Just enough to keep it interesting, yet not enough to ruin it. They also have a pretty decent light show and they utilize the same type of screen that Floyd used in the Division Bell tour.

I saw them in the late 80's on their Momentary Lapse of Reason tour.
I wasn't a huge fan of post-Waters Pink Floyd, but it was one of the best shows I've ever seen.

Like someone said before, Roger Waters is on tour right now. His set includes the entire Dark Side of The Moon played in it's entirety. I'm going to one of the California shows in October. Sold out a while ago, I had to get my tickets on ebay.

watch live from pompeii, it's awesome, especially the "set the controls for the heart of the sun" part.

I seen them twice once in '81 and again in '94 and they were awesome. My only complaint was there was so much smoke it was hard to see them

Live at Pompeii is quite possibly one of the top 5 greatest live performances of all time, IMO. Their performance, the sound, the location, the entire mood is simply stunning. There isn't anything much cooler than putting on a "live" performance in front of NO audience in a 2000 year old stadium. I visited Pompeii and just sat there in the stadium and soaked it in. Their video captures the mood of that city perfectly.

Oh and watch the original version on the DVD, not the edited director's cut or whatever.

Best parts are the solos in Echoes Part I and the blues song with the dog.

I had the privledge to see The Wall in L.A. I've been to dozens of concerts over the years, this is still the best by far. Seeing them reunite for the Live 8 concert sent chills down my spine. Truly one of the great moments in rock history.

It all depends on how high you are!

I saw the division bell tour out here at clemson. Twas an awesome show. I ended up scoring a free ticket and ride from two of my female friends at the time. I supplied the "party favors" and I got to see the show witht them in my lap.

Actually, now that I think about it, that had to be one of the single best moments of my life.

I do remember going in and having my bookbag loaded with "concert aids" if you will. While waiting in line I saw security come up to a guy a few feet in front of me and make him empty his bag before going in. Needless to say I made the one mile trek back to the car to put my bag up .

I was bummed about that until I realized that the stuff there was just being passed around like candy. At one point another friend in a group that followed us reached back to hand the guy and girl behind him the J and the guy flashed a badge and shook his head! He didn't care though, as long as we didn't pass to him! Cool cop!

PF does not tour anymore, and probably never will. The best you can get right now is to see Roger Waters when he comes to the US this fall. David Gilmour just finished his tour the other night, so it's doubtful he'll be back touring for some time.

Of course there is the off chance that Pink Floyd will reunite again for a one-off performance.....but I certainly wouldn't count on it.

If you're going to watch Pulse, which I will admit is absolutely incredible, buy the DVD and avoid watching the butchered sampler that PBS is airing. My local PBS channel was doing one of their fundraisers and was showing Pulse and they totally rearranged the order of the songs played and probably didn't show at least half of the concert. To be fully appreciated you need to see it in the order it was performed. Why those idiots would think no one would notice that DSOTM wasn't all there or in order is beyond me. And they showed Comfortably Numb as one of the first few songs when it was in fact the climax of the show and the next to last song performed. Each song led into the next and the light show was a progression as well. There has never been another band that has come even close to delivering a combined musical and visual experience on the same level as Pink Floyd.
