How has the release of the long-awaited clickfest Starcraft 2 affected online multiplayer player counts and activity for your favorite RTS?

It seems to have chopped Sins of a Solar Empire activity by about 40-50%, which is a shame since it's a non-clickfest RTS.

some people like fast-paced RTSs. get over it.


and only the uber high level players have ridiculous APM. most other people will never see 200+ APM

i have seen plenty of great players with lower then 200APM

Although i would say that anything less then ~140APM is sub-par for any kind of competative SC.

Of course to compete on the highest level you will probably need ~200APM or higher.

some people just don't like high-APM intense RTS. I don't like it either, but I can play at a decently high level.

Thats fine, i just wish people would shut the fuck up about it (OMG CLICKFEST SO SUCK CRAP GAME)

I have no idea because ive been playing too much starcraft 2 to care about the other RTS's i play

Is it true that some of the micromanagement and clickiness has been reduced for SC2? Can you now control (and bind) more than 12 units at once? Is there a way to select all units of a certain type or a group that you've bound to a key and then cycle through them quickly so you can issue orders? Is it easier to set up custom keybinds now?

What do you guys think of the new BNet and its player skill matching system?

I like the fast pace of SC2. That said, it feels like you can have both. I find 1v1 much more intense and you have to stay on top of everything, whereas 4v4 does not have the same level of pressure, because an error or missing an enemies movements and strategy can be alleviated by a teammate.

Can have your cake and eat it too. SC2 is amazing

1) yes.
2) yes. you can also select/bind buildings.
3) if you mean tabbing through common units in a single group (like WC3) yes. if you mean cycling through each bind (1-2-3-4-5...) dunno.
4) no idea. never used custom keys
