I have a TBird 700MHz running at around 62oC at full load.... Should I be concerned?? I would like to leave this system on 24x7... am I going to have any problems??? Thanks for any advice!
I'd say 62 degrees for a 700Mhz Athlon sounds a little too high, you may not have any problems but it may be worth looking at your cooling setup for ways to cool the chip down.
What HSF are you using? Do you have any case fans installed? Do you use ASII (or any type of thermal grease)?
Are you having any stability problems at the moment with the chip running at that temp?
Well, I would suggest that you try bringing the temps down if possible. If you don't already have case fans installed, putting installing one or two. That should help quite a bit.
On the other hand, it's okay to leave it as it is if it's completely stable. However, keep in mind that higher temps usually means shorter cpu lifespan.
The HSF is whatever generic one it came with... No thermal grease, just the little pad that was on the bottom. Perhaps I will look into getting a new fan.
The mainboard temp is hovering around 35oC. Should I look into getting a case fan? Blowing in or out?
