I currently own an AMD 1800+ XP and am planning to build a P4 system by the end of this month. One thing I had trouble with is heat in my AMD system. It would drastically change the temp in my small room and sometimes my BIOS thermal sensor would signal an alarm forcing me to shut down and find something else to do ( I set it to alarm at 60 deg). It would typically be between 52 and 57 degrees. I gave that system the PAL8045 heat sink with an 80mm fan, and the case was a LianLi with very efficient airflow, cables nice n cleanly tucked. So what I'm wondering is, do the P4's (specifically a 2.4 GHz) produce as much heat ?
