How hot does your HD get?

Hey guys, I have this media center and it seems my hard drives keep getting messedup.

How hot are your hard drives? Mine are at 35C idle, 40C working really hard.

What kinda cooling do you have on these puppies?

Is 35-40C normal... ?

My old 120GB Samsung runs at 100F idle, and my new 320GB WD runs at 75F idle. I have a 120mm exhaust and 80mm intake on a Ultra Wizard case, and the HDDs are mounted right in front of the intake.

drives withstand up to 60. As long as you're below 50, I wouldnt be concerned. 50 load that is.

I hit 40s only on hot summer days, otherwise my raptor peaks at 38 on a typical day, and about 36 for my 7200.9

hdd temps don't really matter much and our temps will vary from yours depending on our room temperatures. my 150gb raptor is 35c, my 160gb 7200.7 SATA is 33c. cpu is 40c. i'd recommend trying to keep your hdd under 50c

On a normal day my raptor runs at 32 C and my 7200.7 at 34 C.
