Agreed...although as pathetic is these lower 60s days have been, Seattle typically only gets to mid-upper 70s in July as it is. By my calculations we have the coldest summers in the continental US.
To someone that has lived in texas for the past 15 years, that almost sounds ridiculous that someone could hate a summer that consists of 60s and 70s.
Fair enough. Canberra is a shithole, and full of politicians.

Oh trust me, the Seattle summer might sound enjoyable when you're mired in a heat wave, but it sucks. 50 degrees at night in July? I'm standing outside right now at 4:30pm without a jacket and its rather uncomfortable. This is not summer.
True haha. Thinking about going to Darwin and Alice Springs next, since the Darwin Festival is in mid-August. Really want to see part of Kakadu National Park. It's the dry season so the weather should be good.
Then I might come back to Sydney and head up the east coast with a friend.
Going to get it sorted out in the next week or so. Any recommendations?
Anywhere is good mate, I was just curious. I'm not a big fan of the Gold Coast but I know people that love it. Melbourne is great but the weather is shit. N.T. should be nice.

Because it's such a common occurrence in Arizona. Not to mention you are all probably a bit smarter about it then most people here in Michigan. I saw people out running and biking today at 3pm when it was ~107 degrees here with a heat index of 120+
As an ER nurse I see that as basically a darwin award. STUPID STUPID STUPID. Even worse was they both had no hat or head cover nor did they have a water bottle or gatorade.
Supposed to be 36* thursday, 46 with the humidex here. That's got to be close to the hottest I've ever seen it here, and pretty close to the record high.
Funny, I just ran 2 miles today and 1.5 miles yesterday during the hottest part of the day. I dont bring a water bottle or gatorade with me either.

Well, yea. You do get used to it. Truthfully 2 miles isn't much for a run, and assuming you do it in 14-20 minutes, then your exposure to the heat is limited.
I try to keep my exercise in the early morning (6 am) or late evening (8pm-9pm) during the summer though... taking a run at 3pm in the afternoon always seemed a bit foolish to me.
By comparison to the rest of the country, (except maybe San Francisco) Seattle (and Portland) never has a real summer. You rarely get "heat waves" that reach 100...nor winters that get below zero.
I've never lived in Seattle itself, but did spend almost a year in the (aroma) Tacoma area many years ago...but spent quite a bit of time working in/around Seattle.
We've considered moving to that part of the country to get out of the damned California heat. Being originally from Spokane, it would be ALMOST like moving back "home."
I would recommend against it...
