How is Battlefield 4 fun at all?

Death comes very quickly and without much warning most of the time.

The vehicles are clunky to handle.

The maps are so big that you spend the bulk of your time running.

Try looking around your surroundings with your eyes not just your mouse.

Try out domination game mode. Maps will be much smaller.

Vehicles clunky? Last time I heard about driving a tank I heard it wasn't like your average Porsche.

I find it boring as hell too. Quake, Counterstrike, Unreal Tournament, COD are more of my style.

I dislike BF4 myself. Not for these reasons, but because of the severe server issues they had for such a long time. I just gave up and never went back.

Aside from that I am finding the whole "modern warfare" theme in FPS games to be growing stale.

It's not fun, EA didn't make a game to be fun they made it to make money, you have to buy the fun DLC to make it more fun or wait for "Battlefield 5: This time it will be fun, we promise" edition.

but since yesterday i've had a guy who would constantly go 0 kills 16 deaths i figure, these kind of people exists, some of them probably even post on a forum.

I love it, playing with a squad of friends over voicechat is an absolute blast. However I realize that I will never be as good at it as I wish I could be lol, my mouse precision is just too poor

As an avid BF player, I loved BF2 and BF2 bad company, BF3 was pretty good once the bugs got fixed, and BF4 is just the worst one by far. They have been going downhill for a while.

Honestly, that's the only option. They already murdered the WWI/WWII theme. There is no escaping the fact that FPS era themes no longer matter, because they have all been played out. Sci-fi/futuristic, modern, historical, medieval even... we've had it all. At first, with the modern style of graphically-intensive gaming, it was all fairly new. Now, however, all the themes have been visited with modern graphics, so it'll be impossible to ever truly feel like an FPS is absolutely fresh on all fronts.

Is BF4 your first taste of the Battlefield brand?

Because going from arena-style FPS to the style of gameplay used by BF is going to take time to adjust.

Worse yet if BF4 is your first taste of BF. Sad, really. There is a fairly major upcoming patch addressing movement feel and player-side hit detection latency issues, and hopefully that addresses the major gap between BF3 and BF4 in terms of playability. There's just something there that makes it different, and worse. BF3 is in an entirely different class. Still, that too drew much derision from the BF community... BFBC2 has terrific multiplayer but server populations are basically dead; same with BF2 and 1942, which couldn't be any more different from the direction they took BF3 and BF4.

Op should have premium and should try the cte, see what is new coming to BF4. Yeah sometimes the netcode and hit registration can be frustrating but overall BF4 is pretty good.

I feel most people dislike BF4 because in comparison to BF3,it's just a much more complex game. There is so many upgrades and things to do and perhaps the arcade feel of BF3 appeals more then the tactical approach BF4 goes for.

I logged over 969 hours playing BF3 but haven't touched it since BF4's release. There isnt a whole lot of difference between the two as far as gameplay, but BF4 is more polished. Things were a little wonky with the server tick rates for a while, but that was patched and now all is well, but to each their own.
