now that you guys have tested it for a few weeks how is it. does it have any serious problems. someone offered to sell me one for $450, would you say that is a reasonable price? and is it enough of an upgrade from driodx?
Since you just became eligible, you can afford to wait for ICS.I just became eligible for new every 2. Can't decide if I should upgrade my OG Droid to a Bionic or hold out for an Ice Cream Sandwich device to get released later this year.

Right. I'm actually more nervous about grabbing the wrong hardware. Knowing android's track-record, the OS interface doesn't seem to phase me as much as having the right-sized screen and a quality-feeling phone with a decent camera and good wireless connectivity (3G/4G/Wifi/Bluetooth/GPS). Any OS issues will likely be resolved in updates.Right...I'm really in no hurry. The OG Droid has served me well. The screen has been locking up a little bit recently, but nothing I can't deal with. The only reason I might upgrade before ICS is out is because the smartphone market is on such a fast upgrade cycle. No matter when you pull the trigger on a new device, something bigger and better is basically always being released within the next 90 days.
That tends to be the case, however staying informed with smartphone news and luck with timing can land you a better bang for the buck. The only reason I might upgrade before ICS is out is because the smartphone market is on such a fast upgrade cycle. I'm thinking of upgrading from OG Droid, my new every 2 just popped the other day.
One of my docs bought one, it feels plasticy and creaks... The UI is nice and it's fast as hell though...
Didn't care for mine, Selling it already. I will say that I actually do like the screen on the phone. Only complaints apart from the battery door are software issues.
The first was an issue with the Social Networking app, second day I had it it popped up and said both twitter and facebook had an incorrect password. It wouldn't let me delete the accounts either, telling me that it couldn't delete them because their passwords were incorrect. Checked moto forums and found this had happened to a few people and the only fix was factory resetting the phone.
The second was a 20 second or so dead zone whenever my phone switched between 3g and 1x. Which happens a lot where I work. Never had this happen with my Droid X or my fascinate, or even my iPhone.
We have network extenders and I believe it's having issues with them for some reason.
I might just root my phone and tether everything out of spite because of this entire make the customer pay for what they are already paying for mentality they have.
