How is public transportation in LA?

I want to go from

A) 930 Wilshire Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90017, United States (Wilshire Grand Hotel & Centre)

to

B) 3265 S Sepulveda Blvd. #104 Los Angeles, CA 90034

Only 15 minutes by car but what if I'm forced to take public transportation?

Your only option really is the bus. I'd either get whatever lines go down Pico, Olympic or Wilshire then switch when you get to Sepulveda. One of these lines is most likely express and you'd get there pretty quick down Olympic or Pico depending on what time you leave.

Or you could take the Blue line down to Washington (two stops), then get on the bus that goes down Washington.

Hmm, google says go down Venice - also an option since it turns south to your stop.

orange county too... it takes at least 1 hour to get ANYWHERE. wanna go 2 block over... 1 hr. go from fullerton to laguna hills... 1hr.

THat's not even bad....it's a 40 minute drive with no traffic doing 80. Orange county traffic is cake compared to LA.


As for the OP, you should be able to take the bib blue bus down wilshire (not sure which one, I think the metro bus may be the only one that goes down wilshire as far east as you need) but you can hook up with the big blue 12 to head down sepulveda. Check it out.

1) 15 minutes my ass
2) It will prob take you 2 hours+ during rush hour by bus.
3) lawlz I used to live on that block on Sepulveda.

You can take the Metro 720, get off on Wilshire/Westwood, and transfer to Big Blue Bus #12 which will take you straight to your destination, or take the BBB #8 and get off on Sepulveda/National and walk two blocks.

That's probably the simplest way to get there.

I took the bus from the Southbay to Santa Monica (via K-Town) at the crack of dawn. It was fine. Scariest part was the bus driver's driving.

I know lots of UCLA students who do Santa Monica to UCLA and/or Beverly Hills; most of the women have stories about the bus, but none have been harmed.

as an aside - I take the blue bus all the time and it's awesome. if you live in certain areas public transport is great.

Isn't the Culver City Bus #1 an option also?

And no, that is NOT 15 minutes by car. Best you could do is maybe half an hour by car.

When I lived in Hollywood and worked in downtown LA, a scant three miles away, it took a full 45 minutes by bus in rush hour traffic to get there.

That's one bus, no transfers, from the time I got on the bus across from where I lived right by Sunset until I got off the bus a quarter block from the TransAmerica building, no lie.

I always took a book along with the morning paper.
