Coming from an MS Intellimouse Explorer, my MX500 hands-down is way more precise, smoother, better for gaming, and perfect fit for right handed people, and unless you want to use the sixth button, you don't need to install any crappy LT drivers in XP.

I've heard they work really good with a legal copy of Windows.

Right on dude... Pirates should burn. And they shouldn't own logitech mice.

They should take that money they were going to spend on said Logitech MX mouse and put it towards something more practical.

Say, for instance, a legal copy of Windows.

Am I missing something here? 0_o

Yeah, the MX700 is great. It's the only mouse I've ever used that had a very durable feel to it. I haven't noticed any lag unless the reciever was badly placed. And do get the MX DUO. It's not much more expensive, and I've only had to replace the batteries on the keyboard once since I got it (about a year ago, and with very frequent use). And if you do get any portible mouse, make sure it's the kind you can pop in a cradle and charge. My roomates wireless mouse died in less then a month on standard batteries. Once you go wireless, you don't go back.....

Uh, who cares? He could be an LMNOPer for all we care; this thread is about a freaking mouse. You're accomplishing nothing by pestering him about whatever software he's pirating. Wouldn't a PM be more appropriate?

Moving on..

I have the MX310 which is the same internals as the 500 and 700, with a different shape (and one less button). I thought the shape was kind of crappy but I've grown to like it a lot. Only $30 too.

I have both. I use a Logitech Elite and an MX500 on my main system and the Logitech MX Duo (wireless Elite keyboard and MX700) on my 3rd computer. Both are awesome! I prefer the MX500 over the MX700...the MX700's wireless technology is almost perfect, but it's got a different feel than the wired MX500. The MX Duo is silver, and the Elte + MX500 is gray. I wish they made both of them silver.

Both are excellent choices though. They feel almost identical, and they are the best mice & keyboards I've ever had. I'm highly satisfied with them.

Lol, yeah, what is it w/ Logitech making each better one shinier or better? Wired Elite keyboard: dull speckled silver. MX500: gray. MX Duo: shiny silver. Bluetooh wireless set: metallic blue. They seem to be bent on using the coloring of their products as their rank!

MX500 is lovely. But I hate the wire, so I would like to switch to a MX700.

Btw, has anyone heard of the new mx510 mouse?

I have 3 MX500's. Best gaming mouse I've used thus far, and just as good for work as well. I suspect the MX510 is probably slightly better, but given the specs on paper, I doubt most people can tell the difference.

I would rate the MX700 better, but I did notice on some game titles (ie. 1942 and similiar shooters), there's a very slight lag to it. Doesn't seem to be noticable most of the time with other titles, but it's there nevertheless. Still, it's best wireless mouse I've ever used for gaming.

I've got an MX 500 and it's by far the best mouse I've ever used. also got a friend w/ the new bluetooth combo w/ the bluetooth wireless mouse (mx900 I think) that also seem like a very nice set, although I prefer my Microsoft Natural keyboard. Logitech makes the best mice IMHO... also my little bro has the MX310 seems just as acurate as the Mx500 and good for him since he's left handed. Just my 2 cents....
