How is this Heatsink/ Fan FOP 38

I am thinking of getting this for a 1.4 ghz or XP 1700 on an Epox 8KHAL ?? Good... I had the previous version of this and it seems to cool pretty well.. don't want to spend to much anyway since the newest one in 4-5 months will be at this price anyway... Ideas >>

Hi!

First you must notice the noise level of the FAN. 46.5 db is very much. Untill you hear for yourself one of these you do not know what are
you getting into. The noise if from the 7K FAN. the higher the fan\s RPM the higher the noise frequency and generaly it is more anoying.

If you are into Globalwins please take a look at the WBK68. It has a larger (and better/newer) HS design and features a low profile 60x60x10mm FAN that is running at 4800RPM.The noise level is much lower than the FOP38.
I'm very pleased with my WBK and I am running it's fan at 3600RMP which makes it the quitest fan I heard (on athlons) to date (I'm using an DUCT to improve airflow thought).

It's approved for Athlons up to 1.4Ghz. But it has an seccond edition version that is approved up to 1.8Ghz.

Do not buy the FOP38 because it will make you scream at nights

The cooler cools well, but sounds like a screaming banshee... I only had mine installed for one day.. it had to go.. I use a Coolermaster DP 6L51 cooler with a 5500 RPM fan and my CPU is only 2C warmer with this cooler, it's cheaper, and much much quieter.. Thats what I would recommend.

Rated for 1.4 Ghz...no probs. But of course the 7k delta is a screamer. My WBK38 cools well but had the same fan...so noisy.
