9 or 10 pm. When my kids were younger, a neighbor called us and asked us if we could have our kids stop playing because the sound of the ball bouncing was so annoying in their house when they were trying to relax that late. I agreed.

Gee, talking to your neighbors helps sometimes!

I don't think they should play on the street, they might get hit by a car.

They should play on their driveway instead, or if they have access to a basketball court, then they should play there.

As far as what hours to play, If it's summer or in a hot part of the country, play when it's dark ...
If it's in the winter or if it's a colder part of the country, then it makes more sense to play when it's light.

it's never too late.. I can't stand Soccer Mom's that bitch about people playing bball in a cul-de-sac especially if it's like 8 or 9 pm. Same lady that got mad about fireworks being too loud on the 4th of July.

We used to play in a neighbors yard until after midnight a lot of the time and nobody ever called the cops on us. Looking back on that it's surprising because we were pretty loud.

You can check the city ordinance for noise if you want to see if you can get the police involved to make it stop. If it is a public court, you could simply take matters into your own hand and take down the nets. This alone will discourage many from playing. If it is some neighbors, you will be pretty much out of luck unless you belong to an HOA and then you may be able to do something about it.

So you are telling him to vandalize the court?
I am saying he could choose to go that direction if it is a serious issue for him. Mind you I am not saying tear down the goals although tearing down the nets would still be technically minor vandalism. I personally don't think this is a big deal, but I know how it could get to the point that it was. He could also push to have the courts removed. There is a park where I am from that did this. I personally thought it was ridiculous, but to each their own.

What would tearing the nets do? This is retarded.

Playing basketball without basketball nets is not fun. It is a deterrent. Odds are probably pretty good they would want to play somewhere else as its hard to see the ball go through the hoop. My guess is you have not played basketball without a basketball net before or you probably wouldn't think this was retarded.

Another nice thing about this plan is it would be fairly easy thing to do that would have an immediate effect. Plus, it is minor vandalism and even he was busted by the cops, the penalty would be minor maybe even resulting in just a fine. I'm not saying I would do it, I am just saying it would be something that could be done. The fact is this would be a temporary solution as the city could just replace the nets or whatever and the problem reoccurs again.

You are a complete asshole.

I hope someone slashes your tires as an easy fix because they are tired of seeing your car on the road.

This made me LoL.

I can see you don't play basketball. Therefore, your opinion is null and void.

LOL. Lighten Up Francis. The guy asked for suggestions on how to deal with the problem so I gave him some possibilities. My answer was mostly tongue in cheek but I guess you just don't get it. What I find most funny is I don't exactly see you coming forth with any ideas to help his so called problem. So let's hear your great strategy for resolving this problem.

Also, it is never a good idea to mess with another man's car. That is what cowards do and will most assuredly cause someone to go Gran Turino on them.
