Been shaving regularly since I was 16 (14 years ago). First razor was an Remington Microscreen (electric). Used it for approx 8 years but never got use to the slight razor burn and irritation I was getting, especially around the neck.
I switched to a blade about 10 years ago and found the close shave of the blade (Bic Twin) to be the best for overall closeness and comfort. I was shaving about once every 2 days and things were good until I got a promotion at work and had to do a majority of my work on site with clients. This involved a lot of travel and living out of hotels. My new position required that I be clean shaven every day. Unfortunately the old trusty Bic Twin disposable razor wasn't up to it - nor was my skin. I needed to find a electric razor that would give me blade like close shaves without irritation to the skin, especially my neck which always was the most irritated.
Off to the Internet for reviews I went. A lot of people were highly recommending the Norelco Quadra electric razor for blade like close shaves without irritation. I ended up forking out the money and purchased one about a year ago. I was amazed at the quality of the razor. It was like night and day compared to my very first electric razor many many years ago. The Norelco Quadra razor allowed me to get extremely close shaves (close as my blade) and enabled me to shave every single day without worrying about skin irritation.
It took about a week and a half for my skin to get use to the Norelco, but ever since I have been 100% happy with my purchase. The best electric razor you can get in my opinion and it's very light and smooth on the skin. So if anyone of you are looking for a Christmas give for yourself, pick one of these babys' up. A bit pricey but an incredibly close comfortable electric shave isn't cheap. Worth every penny.
