How long has your SSD lasted?

I thought it would be interesting to do a survey for people's experiences with SSD lifetime. It's pretty tough to make a poll because of all the variables involved. Did my best with only 10 options. Obviously, there are going to be a lot of working SSDs that aren't going to get counted here, so the poll is not the greatest. You can select multiple options if you have multiple SSDs.

Generally, only vote if you have a consumer-class, MLC SSD. If you have a samsung drive or something from a similarly reputable source, vote in the closest category. Basically, the JMicron are "Generation 0" drives, the G1 is First generation 50nm drives, the G2 is Second generation, 34nm drives and if you have a 3rd Gen and/or 25nm drive and it failed, pick the first option.

i had 2x intel G1s in raid0 for 2+ years and recently took them out. put them in a couple other machines and they were still practically fresh.

I have the OCZ Solid 2 with an Indilinx controller & 34nm Intel NAND and have been beating on it regularly for 16 months without fail. BTW, the Intel G1 contains 50nm NAND.

I also wanted to differentiate between the SSDs based on capacity( <60GB, ~64GB(stupid OCZ), 80-120, 120+).

Maybe a google docs spreadsheet? I remember seeing one on another forum filled with ASSD benchmark results.

Why all the differentation ? You arent going to get enough data to mean anything, other than in the aggregate.

Like, the current 20&#37; failure rate across all types is noteable.

Had a Vertex 2 that I purchased a year ago, swapped it in and out of three PCs/laptops, always as a system drive. Never a problem and just handed it off in my tower I sold.

2 Intel X25-V 40GB running in raid 0 since 4/1/10
2 Intel X25-M 160GB running in raid 0 since 7/16/10

No issues with either since I have owned them.
