Just a visual update? I loved Rebellion but it had some serious UI and mechanic issues to go along with it.

Yeah sure I'd take that. Just re-released on Steam working natively in Windows 7+ would be awesome.

I mean if they wanted to streamline some of the interface shit I'd be ok with that, I don't remember any massive mechanical shit off the top of my head, I wouldn't be surprised if there were some things in a 15 year old game. But for the most I'd be fine with it the way it was. I never played multiplayer or anything, but it's the kinda game I'd love to have to kill 20 minutes here and there with. But alas, I've pretty much given up on that one. Although I never thought it would happen or AoE2 or RoN, so who knows.

If a new Force Unleashed had mechanics like MGS: Revengeance, that would be more polished and enjoyable combat.

I honestly thought the force unleashed sucked. Jedi Knight 2 and Jedi academy did everything right with lightsaber combat.

Star War Galaxy was great till SOE ruined it with CURB many years ago.

All I can say, have avoided anything Star Wars ever since myself.

The essence of the problem is always going to be that what works in the movies does not work in games. The more movie like you try and make a game the worse its gaming mechanics are going to be. Cinematic is basically watching rather than playing and bashing B at the right moment in time is awful. Star wars games have the Lore to fight against, its only those games that focus on the gameplay and try not to get the lore 100% right that tend to succeed and be good playable games.

apart from Kotor and TOR the last Star Wars game I enjoyed was probably the first Republic Commando which I played on the original Xbox, Force Unleashed I didn't bother finishing, the game was to boring for me.

Kotor 3 using the Dragon Age 3 engine would be very interesting, but considering the direction they went after DA:O and ME1 with their franchises I'm afraid it would be nothing like Kotor1/2.

I like TOR, but it's an MMO...

Empire at War was pretty decent as well come to think of it. If you took out the land battles and just left it as a space RTS. Mods were fun.

N64 game?

That game was awesome.

Yep. I got mine pretty late, so it came as the pack-in game.
It did come out for PC as well, thought he N64 version is supposed to be the definitive one.

Give me a Star Wars Jedi game that plays like Metro LL with hints of Cry engine and Rogue Squadron and I'll die a happy man.

I want there to be Rancor battles in caves (metro), dreary Dagobah training/meditation/skill learning segments(metro atmosphere /crysis environment), Hoth invasions(Crysis frost level), Endor speeder bike's, Death Star battles....

If the game was called something like Star Wars: The Jedi Legacy and spanned the whole movie saga with character development... um why do I have a bulge in my pants? I think I was just envisioning rescuing leia in her metal bikini =) Who wants to help me make this game?

Episode I: Pod Racer
Rogue Squadron
Rogue Squadron: Rogue Leader

didn't play Rogue Squadron: Rebel Strike though.

I would love to be able to play Rogue Squadron. However, I haven't been able to get it to work on any new version of Windows (XP or 7). There's some info online about modifying the executable to kind of get it to work (a steep hurdle for someone who doesn't mess with code at all but probably pretty easy for someone with some knowledge). I wish someone like gog would sell it.

Shadows of the Empire was my favorite game. And Rogue Squadron.

I had a lot of fun in Battlefront 2. I'm looking forward to the reboot, but like others have mentioned, I'm hesitant due to EA's involvement.

Also, loved me some Rogue Squadron. I think I still have it around here somewhere. I was so bad at falling the walkers

Totally agree! I'd be all-in for a game like that. My best one back in the days was X-Wing: Alliance. It was just awesome.

Need a Star Wars dogfight game!

The thing that limited sales for "X-Wing", "Tie Fighter", "XvT" and "X-Wing Alliance" was that you had to have a joystick. It's hard to sell a game to non fans if you have to have a peripheral in order to play.
I would bet that the Disney higher ups look at sales of those series to determine if they want to make another. Even though Alliance came out about 15 years ago.
There would have to be a huge demand for a game like that to be made. I really hope it happens.
I would like to see a living universe such as in the "X" series of games. The ability to join the Empire or Alliance, be a smuggler or trader.

We really need a SW MMOFPS game done like Planetside 2, but with more care taken in balance and pacing (not trying to cater to CoD players) and with space focus.

Ah yes, Rogue Squadron. Damn, wish I could find my N64 AV cable. Got it out of storage but can't hook it up. Flying around in the Buick was great, even if it did occasionally crash the game. ^_^

There was a time when Disney actually did care about making good movie to game adaptations. I can't help but thing the next Star Wars films are going to spawn nothing but freemium content.

You can make those games run real easy on a mouse and keyboard.

Would be sweet if they had planets instead of continents and they had every known planet for Star Wars playable with space battles obviously.

Basically a Battlefront MMO which is one of the most genius ideas ever in history.

Right, but I wouldnt want it to play like Battlefront...ie first person focus, and some space physics instead of the junk space they had in BF...

For sure. Add in more classes and weapons and more well designed gameplay mechanics with some complexity. Like how about only allowing pilots to drive vehicles or spacecraft. You can have assault shuttles to transport boarding space marines from ship to ship.

i mean how difficult is it.you have light sabers to chop limbs. thats gameplay right there. you have force powers so you can also make magic combat. you have force jump so none would complain if you made double jump power. force unleashed seemed to be going in the right direction. alright visuals. okay force powers. shitty sword chopping. force unleashed 2 improved the sword game play but alas it ended after like 6 levels. how hard could it be. people would buy these games and enjoy them just for the philosophical jedi cut scenes. just for character design of jedi robes. my favorite is still jedi academy which i have to return to several times a year because there is just nothing else. stupid world. no good startwars games. no good lord of th rings games. no good spider man games

No good lord of the rings games? Check out the new Middle Earth game that just came out where you play a wraith. Also... No good SW games? Jedi Knight, Jedi Knight II, KOTOR, Battlefront, Force Unleashed, Rogue Squadron I II III, X wing, X wing vs TIE fighter, Shadows of the Empire, LEGO Starwars...
