DDR2 is the standard at this point. Its only a matter of time. The fact that S754 will meet its end in June (pretty sure its this June) is not a good sign either

IIRC, AMD is going to skip over DDR2, and go straight for DDR3, which will start the transition to the 1200-odd pin Socket M2. This, obviously, will remain AMD's high-end platform for a while.
