You get to help a company earn more money from buying their products. And you get the delusion of having a faster system.

That all depends on the Operating System you run, the programs you use, and what the purpose of the PC is.

  1. If it's a data server, you will definitly benefit from 4GB
  2. If you are running Windows Vista, 4GB may help with some applications. (Encoding, Chryptography, Video Production, Photoshop?)
  3. With Windows XP you could reduce or eliminate the page file and implement a virtual hard disk drive in the un-used portion of the RAM
  4. http://www.cenatek.com/product_ramdisk.cfm

But if you are just sending email and do not have tons of startup programs running then you should not see too much benefit from more than 1GB with Windows XP.

If theres anyone who gets in on this and ends up not wanting it. Ill pay the AR price + shipping for another kit. Saves you paying restocking fee returning it.

Not me, someone else spotted it. I just stole their thunder. Can I pair the two different stix and run them at the same specs?

Roguester, if I could help you, I would, but you must have a friend in the states?

Forgot... my post was to thank the op as I just ordered a set using my first google checkout.
Now, do I get a second set from mwave. Hmmm

Ok...the Wintech Ampo @ Newegg for ~$85 shipped, this Crucial for ~$100 shipped (AR) or the PC8000 Ballistix @ Mwave for ~$122 shipped (AR).
What's the best bang for the buck for someone that doesn't overclock their system to the brink of meltdown or game 24/7?

If you don't like rebates all too much, just get the Ampo. Both ballistixs use d9gmh, and crucial does have better a warranty and support team than wintec.

Yeah, I wouldnt waste my money on ampo. Might as well spend the extra $15 and get crucial that has micron d9gmh chips and im sure, better support and compatibility.
