Well to be specific he didn't take the drug(s) that was touted by Trump. He ingested an chemical that was designed to clean aquariums. They are NOT the same thing. You cannot stop people from qualifying for the Darwin Award.
do you think this couple would have tried it if trump had not promoted it as an effective treatment when it isn't?

That's his rationale to make excuses for Trump's incompetence. Defend Trump over all else.

Meanwhile its costing lives. However if I wish for his supporters to follow Trump's advice over Dr. Fauci and die off I'm being mean spirited.

Just watching CNN interview with gov John Edwards of Louisiana. Two weeks ago they had 1 case. Now, 1,134 positives with 34 deaths.
He said that La has the fastest growth of CV in the world.

Gov Edwards showed a graph showing states/countries growth after first 100 cases and La is showing a curve, similar to Italy and Spain's beginning.

And the orange menace wants to open up the USA for business as soon as possible.

You mean like a hair blow dryer up the nose?

To ingest an aquarium cleaner is stupid regardless of what anyone says. It even has a warning on the label not for humans.... Blah blah blah.

Besides Trump did not say that chloroquine phosphate is acceptable it isn't the same thing as chloroquine and hydroxychloroquine.

besides the point, would they have taken it if trump had not said it was a effective treatment when it isn't?

Maybe not. I don't know for sure. I do know that it was definitely a low IQ idea.

I do see that you never address the fact that Trump never said that chloroquine phosphate Aquarium Cleaner was an effective treatment.

And no it isn't besides the point.

Do you think somebody who listens to Trump would know the difference? They didn't just randomly take chloroquine phosphate, they got the idea from somewhere. I bet they'd have had no idea the different chemicals you mentioned even existed. But you someone expect them to realize they weren't taking the right one? Let me rephrase that, take the one Trump said, it definitely isn't the right thing to take to do anything for the Corona Virus. Trump speaks recklessly far too often.

So what you are saying it's that these people were smart enough to try something trump said but not smart enough to figure out the difference between what trump said and something that sounded like what trump was talking about.

Why do you make excuses for trump? I thought you didn't even like the guy?

How do you feel about a blow dryer up the nose as a treatment?

Tylenol is good for aches and pains unless you take too much...

According to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), taking too much acetaminophen can damage your liver. The recommended maximum daily dose is 4,000 milligrams (mg) per day for adults. However, the difference between a safe dose of acetaminophen and one that may harm the liver is very small. McNeil Consumer Healthcare (the maker of Tylenol) lowered their recommended maximum daily dose to 3,000 mg. Many pharmacists and healthcare providers agree with this recommendation.

Other factors add to the risk of liver damage when taking acetaminophen. For example, the chance of liver damage is greater if you already have liver problems, if you drink three or more alcoholic beverages a day, or if you take warfarin.

Chloroquine phosphate is chloroquine with hydroxychloroquine being a more potent form. Chloroquine is the active ingredient.

FDA Commissioner Dr Stephen Hahn said chloroquine phosphate will be used in clinical trials to test its effectiveness but saying otherwise would give Americans “false hope” against the outbreak, which has sickened thousands across the US.

There was no reason to effusively praise it as a wonder miracle. This is the only admin that would have done that.

The woman told NBC News on Monday that she had heard Mr. Trump make repeated mentions of chloroquine during recent White House briefings on the coronavirus and that she used chloroquine phosphate to treat her koi fish.

An Arizona man and his wife ingested a fish tank cleaning additive made with the same active ingredient as chloroquine phosphate .

Having the same active ingredient doesn't make it the same thing nor does it make any sense to self dose yourself with something that is a cleaning agent for an aquarium. That is called stupidity.

Overdose of antimalarial drugs, particularly chloroquine, can be fatal. Medication should be stored in childproof containers out of the reach of infants and children.

Yes, the formulation is different changing the pharmacology, but it is the drug Donnie said contrary to the one point you wanted to make.

They probably were well aware of the fish antibiotic analogs as well and didn't realize this was a lot more risky than people taking fish mox.

Yes, the list of adverse effects should have steered them away from trying it, but it still in all likelihood wouldn't have happened if Donnie would have just shut up and let the experts do the talking.

As I said it was a stupid thing to do.
