A lot of Trump's followers don't expect the President to be a leader. They've been told repeatedly that the government doesn't do anything, or at least not anything good, so why should it be lead by him or anybody? They only expect him to be a figurehead. Which would be fine (at least, less unfine) if the Presidency were in fact solely a figurehead position. Unfortunately for all of us who have to live in reality, however, it's not. They seem to want someone who will be President for just the parts of the country that like him.
The governor of Michigan, when he does invoke her name, he refers to her as "Half-Whitmer". Trump - “I say, ‘Mike (Pence) … don’t call the woman in Michigan,” “You know what I say? If they don’t treat you right, don’t call.” “All I want them to do — very simple — I want them to be appreciative.”
Trump’s partisan temper tantrums on governors threaten to pull apart the country precisely when it needs to come together. And you can trace them directly to his hurt feelings. If Trump perceives someone to be critical of him or even his policies, he uses a flamethrower in response. His followers LOVE that bully ass dumb shit. He is a BABY in a suit. Now is not the time to be a child, Mr. President. Now is the time to put away childish antics. Be a man. I know it's almost impossible for you to do so. You can begin by respecting this woman. Her name is Gretchen Whitmer. The people of Michigen don’t need presidential name-calling. They don’t need disrespect. They don’t need the most powerful person in the nation, whom the state of MIchigan helped elect to his job. Refusing to return the governor’s calls and acting like a pouting child waiting to be asked nicely before he shares his life saving toys. What a total POS
