I just built my first custom computer. I have it up and running with a small stick of RAM that I had laying around to test the system out with. I want to buy a Gig of RAM to go into the system. My question is, will my motherboard support as much of the PC3200 as it will the PC2700. I am sure at some point down the road I will want to add more RAM, and this note from Crucial.com says:
Notes
Important information about your system
When using DDR400 (PC3200) the system supports a maximum of 2 banks of memory, when using DDR333 (PC2700) the system supports a maximum of 4 banks of memory. A single DIMM will either have 1 or 2 banks of memory.
I have an ASUS A7V8X-X motherboard, with three slots. Which is the best way to go here that will allow me to upgrade my RAM later?
