here is a hierachy chart if you are not sure which category your GPU is.
http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/gaming-graphics-card-review,3107-7.html

"older" multi gpu poll choice not available for voting.
multi gpu question is more important than overall peformance so vote for how many gpu total first.

-----

wanted to put up a poll to show multi gpu niche.

please ONLY vote with what you CURRENTLY have NOW/TODAY and IN USE. not what you had in the past.

poll is multiple choice so you can multi vote based on all the machines you own.

-----

criteria for low, midrange, high, ultra high is subjective.
using 1920x1080p as the default resolution.

igpu is bascially a gpu that can play almost all game at fair/low.
low is bascially a gpu that can play almost all game at good.
midrange is bascially a gpu that can play almost all game at high.
hi end is basicall a gpu that can play almost all game at ultra.

ultra hi end is basically a gpu that is above and beyond.

Some people will have issues with you putting the 7970/680 etc in the high endD:.

I honestly don't think you can call yourself an enthusiast unless you have at least 4 GPU's. All this single GPU stuff is for gelded sissies.

I'm pretty sure the 7950/7970 and 670/680/777 are high end, and ultra high end are the Titan/780.

In the past I've ran SLI and Crossfire, but i don't really think it's worth the hassle anymore.

Now i just buy the next best or the best GPU on the market depending on price and performance between the two. Lately the next best from Nvidia or AMD have offered nice performance for a nice price.

I voted mid-range, assuming that's where my 7870 goes.

imho - 7870/580 should be at the bare minimum of the hi end category. that is still a pretty powerful gpu.

not rocket science. no need to make it more complicated than it is.

7970/7970Ghz/680/770 is blazing fast - hence hi end. 780/titan is above and beyond - hence separation with ultra hi end.

No options for people with 3 or 4 slower/older GPUs. My 2nd computer is running 2x 4870x2 (4 GPUs) which combined still outperform a single GTX680. I know a friend still running 3 Radeon 5870s too.

I guess the question cards are the 690/7990. Are they classified as 2 high end, or 1 ultra high end.

do accept my apology. only had 10 slots. had to combine - 4 multi gpu for hi end and 4 multi gpu ultra hi end - together.

go ahead and vote "4 Multi-GPU - Hi End / Ultra Hi End." imho - that would be a closer match.

that is still two gpu - just on the same pcb. so definitely vote "2 Multi-GPU - Hi End"

I would be in the 2 Hi end category if the prices of 670's would ever freaking drop. Seriously what is going on?

I have two HD6950s right now. I don't want to run two, I want a single card like I've always had. But since I had a second one lying around, I stuck it in and crossfired them. The 7950/7970 haven't come down in price enough to pick one up to replace this setup, but I'm looking forward to that.

Where would my 5770 go? I guess it would easily beat the low end ones listed but I'm not sure about the mid range ones.

5770 is equalvent to a 460/550ti which is much closer to 5850/560. so definitely midrange.

I have a 680 in my gaming system, but also:

- an 8800 GTX in my "work" PC
- a Radeon 6850 in a windows 8 development / test PC

... plus an i3 jukebox PC with HD2000, and an Atom HTPC with nv Ion.

Apparently people are giving their own interpretation as to what ultra high end is.

This poll is going places.

As of late I greatly prefer having only one GPU, but have run Xfire/SLI many times. I'm open to multi GPU, but two maximum for me. As always, ultra high end is in the eye of the beholder and is open to interpretation.

2x 7950

QuadStutter

Really only use 1x 7970, as I hate SLI/Crossfire.

I'll test Crossfire whenever/if ever they fix it.

I have another question which is fairly relevant to the thread. What resolution do people use their cards for?

I have a single 680 but I only game at 1080p. However I'm hoping for some 680s to drop in price so I can do some SLI action and take moar advantage of my 120hz monitor.
