I look at Russ's 88,219 KKeys/sec and I'm saddened by my average 1,602 KKeys/sec on my Athlon 735

68 at the moment between 4 projects.

As I am older than Ray, and subject to forgetfullness and confusion, I honestly can't say how many are on RC5, but it is about half of them.

Neat web page Russ.

[edit] Might I say here that nobody should feel ashamed at having a small herd, or even just one machine, as long as you are cracking! Every CPU is important!
I hate to see a thread like this as it can be devisive when it is meant to be informative.
Some of us are quite fortunate to have a lot of machines at our disposal. I for one spread the wealth around a little here and there, but that is another story. A few of mine are 486s that run 24/7, so I could not let those cycles go to waste. [/edit]

Some of the stuff listed on my page is at my shop, yes. Others are customers who let me put the client on their systems. Shop itself currently generates about 32M Keys/s.

I currently have 9 inhouse and a few assimilations that produce now and then.

I envy the guys with access to large herds but I am not jealous. Actually the guys with the large, personal herds inspired me to add to my herd.

There is such an extremely geekish feeling you get when you look around your basement and see piles of motherboards and powersupplys laying around doing something Even better when you have to hot wire the power supplys because they don't have an on/off switch. Who needs a steenkin power switch?!?! Or even better yet, having to start your atx crack board with a screw driver because there is no power switch

Where am I going with this? I don't know. I just woke up and when I read it afterwork, I'll probably edit all of it out lol

Ahh, Mandrill, before you edit, help me out. I have piles of motherboards also, but...they aren't doing anything. On atx boards with no case, use screwdriver? I can't find that in the manual anywhere. Which chapter? I am guessing you mean touch the power switch terminals on the motherboard? If that will work....I could add a couple celerons....hmmm. And, next question, how do you get blocks to each unit? I have no extra modems. Or monitors.

Paulson,
just fyi - a pc uses less electricity than a 100 watt light bulb.
Might use that on 'em.

The ATX form factor uses a soft power switch so it's just a toggle each time the circuit closes. Use a screwdriver to short the soft power pins to start, touch them again to shut down.

I myself am using one machine (PIII-600, my comp.)..... but I have got another running the client (PIII-500, problem is its only on for a couple of hours a day ). I asked my friend to run it on his, and he said yes so when I get to his PC i'll also have a PIII-700. I may also be including a P200, but we will have to see how that pans out.

This FAQ contains some information. But basically, if the Cows head is in the bottom right-hand corner and the client is recieving and transmitting blocks, it is working.
