Said nobody but you in the last four years. Thank you VW for ruining that for all of us.

That said with awesome EV options here/nearly here I'm not that mad. EV does everything diesel does better but the range.

Viper GTS

haha- VW screwed the pooch legally, but the sad thing is they didn't NEED to cheat-the product was already top notch. That lawsuit mess actually benefited us though- We got a 2014 A6 TDI and it was sold as new in 2016 after modifications. We bought it this year with a year of factory warranty left on it, plus 4 years of drivetrain/fuel system warranty---it only had 28K miles and we got it for $17,900! I've seen 2015 TDI Jettas "brand new" with less than 1000 miles on them for $12000...these Audi/VW cars are deals of the century if you can find them.

I'm still amazed you get 22. Ecoboost? Before I put LT tires I was getting around 18mpg, with the heavier tires I'm getting 15 at best. My commute is 70 miles roundtrip so I got an old 2003 Corolla. I'm getting around 350 miles on a full tank (I think around 12 gallon tank).

2018 F-150. 3.5l Ecoboost, 10 speed transmission. I've gotten over 24 mpg driving the posted limit on flat ground, adding in hills...and a couple of mph, drops the average to 21-22 mpg. I towed a 6x12 Uhaul trailer a while back, mileage dropped to about 18.

Weeks? You don't drive much then.

~425/fillup, ~27mpg, lasts almost exactly bang-on a week, if I don't go anywhere after work and steal my housemate's car to run errands. (The short-trip in-city mileage on those hybrids is amazing.)

28 miles round trip to work. 4-8 miles to a road with Kroger, Meijers, Lowes, Home Depot, Restaurants, Bars etc etc on it and we split a lot of those trips between our two cars. I'm thankful I don't have to drive far as drivers are terrible

~600 in the V8 Camaro if I did my math right, if it's all highway. Pretty close to the same though for city, but I've got pretty conservative driving habits most of the time.
~19 MPG for lifetime, was ~20 before I moved to a hilly area ~4y ago.

Dang! I have a 15.5-gallon tank in my '18 Ecoboost Mustang. Currently averaging 24 MPG, so 372 miles per tank. Highest I've gotten is 36 MPG hyper-miling on long trips. 600 miles per tank in a sports car is bananas!

260-280ish depends if I let the light come on or not. Miles per tank is kinda useless metric anyways. I typically get about 22-23mpg combined.

How weird is the 10 speed in shifting? I have an 8 speed and under acceleration the shifts are every 1.5-2 seconds...it's strange because you're used to the engine spinning all the way up, not going "rrrr...rrrr...rrr...rr...r....rrr...rrr....rrrr...."

I didn't care for it...I test-drove the 10-speed automatic V8 Mustang first & it felt like driving a tractor lol. Ended up going with the 6-speed manual Ecoboost instead. I also hated my Jeep Renegade's 9-speed transmission for the same reason...constant shifting & lag! The only higher-speed transmission I've come across that I actually liked was Kia's 8-speed transmission in the Stinger, which was surprisingly butter-smooth. The 8-speed automatic in the Dodge Charger was similar to my Jeep's...laggy & slow & constantly shifting, didn't care for it at all!

About 80 miles depending on speed. But I've only used about 3 gallons in the past 4 months though I've driven about 1000 miles.

My 2011 Civic has a 13.2 gallon tank, I think, so with my average fuel economy of 29.335 mpg, it looks like I'd go 387 miles.

Yeah, BMW's ZF 8 speed is actually pretty brilliant- it will keep you in the 3000+RPM power band in sport mode, but favor low RPMs in eco mode. I can see why all those gears are there, they're logically executed and smooth, it's just not the shifting experience and sounds you're used to.

I have a 2014 and when I tow I get 9 mpg. Before I switched tires I would get around 11. There's no denying these trucks have power for towing though.

Yeah, I always thought the tank size was pretty large. Used to make runs from Sumter SC to Hilton Head on a quarter tank, so that's what my math was based on. That's good mileage but I assume the ecoboost goes a long way over my normie v8 (which admittedly is still pretty efficient)

Hell, I love it. It's so smooth, I rarely even feel the shift.

Exactly. It was a bit odd at first, not having the noticeable shift points, but I had kind of gotten used to it driving a C-Max hybrid for a couple of years. (not the same with the CVT transmission, but got me used to not feeling the shifts)
The truck has full "manual mode" if I choose...and I can also shift manually while in auto mode...but why?

About 350 miles/tank on my 18 year old Tundra. About the same on the 04 BMW 325i. Closer to +400 miles on my 2013 335 because of that damn twin-scroll turbo.

Ouch. My commute is 35 miles each way. I want to die most days.

I think my 2013 Volt can do something like 350+ miles on a full 8 gallon tank - only if I drive conservatively. Electric is another 40 miles of range. I mostly use electric and go most days without using any gas at all. I use premium gas because manufacturer says I'm supposed to, but people say it's actually fine to use regular.
