Nice ride Amused. When I get a chance I'll post up pics of mine. I hope to see you someday at a rally somewhere. I run with the local H.O.G. group on weekends. Getting reaady for an overnighter in Laughlin, Nv end of month.

nothing finer than the sound of 200 harleys running the 1.1 mile tunnel of zion Nat'l park. I'll be there Mar 25 this year. did it with 30 Harleys saturday,many with open pipes. we call it Thunder in the Tunnel. You need to be there.

Actually, stock Harleys are very quiet. In fact, they are quieter than most stock Japanese cruisers (Harley clones).

Your ignorance is as bad as your taste. Harleys are so bad sounding and so bad looking that all the Japanese bike companies and a few euro companies have entire lines modeled after them and have spend billions in R&D copying them.

I'm sorry guys but it must be said that Harleys/easy rider-style bikes are simply not cool. Too many of the riders/bikes have the lame skulls and black leather + tassles look that to me screams 'homosexual'. Way too many beards and open face helmets (the riders remind me of mr.Slave from southpark... you know, kinda... gimpy). The whole 'bad to the bone' image just seems like a total farce: how can you be 'hard' when you ride a ludicrously slow and easy to ride bike?

The bikes themselves are horribly inefficiant, slow and pretty much just about making a loud noise and showing off chrome. Little to no skill is required to handle them and they pretty much are the ultimate mid-life crisis/micropenis 'cure'. It's 99.8% image, 0.2% performance. The open face helmets, the stupid artwork painted everywhere, big boots... I mean, tassles on the handlebars?! that what 5 year old girls have on their bicycles!

Give me a bike that you can see has been shaped around the design of the frame (function over looks) any time, and an engine that actually does something. I really despise inefficiancy... how you can make a 1.3L engine only wheeze out ~100mph I'll never know.

My opinion, of course...

No HD for me, rented one in Daytona last year and won't set foot on another. How anyone could ride a machine that is so unsafe I will never understand. I guess its to compensate.

I'd rather listen to 200 fart-canned civics go screaming by my place at 2am. Some Harley's are just too loud and quite obnoxious.

My opinion, of course...

I rode sport bikes for 20 years before I bought a Harley. Some folks want to slow down and take it easy. I enjoy riding my Harley. I no longer feel the need to race around like a bat out of hell anymore, much less suffer the constant tickets and ridiculous insurance.

If something is not your style, fine... but belittling people for their style choice only makes you look closed minded and myopic. Especially when that choice doesn't affect you whatsoever.
