First off, I checked HDTV and High-definition for previous posts. I didn't see any that included a poll.

But here goes, I was just looking at some comments about the Wii. Since the Wii doesn't have HD it will lose in units sold based on solely on its lack of HD. So I'm curious what is the ratio of HDTV owners compared to not. Post comments if you like.

Sony Wega 27" Flat Screen

Not an HDTV, I will not upgrade to an HDTV until my Sony:heart: breaks and Comcast starts having HDTV channels in my area.

Any chance of a null option for poll #2 for those already with an HDTV?

People who can afford HD can certainly afford to drop $250 on the Wii without much thought, even though it doesnt do HD.

Some of us save for a while to buy something and can't just cough up another 250 bucks on a whim.

I want an HDTV, but there are only 7 HD channels available on my cable system right now. I don't have an XBox 360 or an HD-DVD player either, so it's just not worth it yet.

no HD here

no need for it just yet, sky HD isnt out just yet, and theres only a handfull of HD sample chanels on sky now. the only reason to have a HDTV is if you have a Xbox360, and even then, most of the guys i know with a 360 play it through their pc monitors

Nope. I plan on buying one in 1-2 years. I want a 42-50" HDTV capable of 1080P with a whole set of HDMI inputs and outputs...for around $1000-1500. I hope to be able to buy a HD-DVD/Blu-Ray player at about the same time, also cable of outputting 1080P via HDMI. When I can get both for $2K or less, I will do so. Then probably spend another $1-2K on some sort of 5.1 setup.

I have one TV. (Panasonic 27" standard) I have no intentions of upgrading anytime soon. Just don't watch TV enough to justify the cost. (probably at most an hour and a half a week, if that)

On top of that, there's no good HD channels in my area. Even if there were, it'd be too expensive to again justify having.

I have a Sony KDS-R60XBR1, a Samsung 46", a Sanyo 32", and a Olevia 26", all hd. The Sony is unreal. I have all my locals in HD and also have the DirecTv hd package. I am waiting for a sale to get a 32"-37" lcd for my bedroom, then I will dump both my Sanyo and Olevia. Oh, I also have a MyHD card for my puter.

I'll probably be getting a 2006 model Samsung HLS-5087 DLP soon, 1080p HDMI inputs and game mode to remove lag.

But that has no effect on whether I'll buy a wiiiii, it depends on if there enough games that I want to play. My nostalgia is for old PC games like Wasteland rather than old console games.

I've had an HD Sony for 2-3 years now, but no HD signal. Living in rural TN sucks big time.

Well you could always get satellite service from Dish Network or DirecTV and get HD content from either provider.

i have an ancient stardard TV. i only use it for playstation every once in a while. i'd like to have a nice TV for movies, but there are million ways i'd rather spend a couple thousand dollars (or invest it). that $2,000 could easily represent $500,000 by the time i'm old and can't do anything BUT watch TV. half a million ought to buy a nice TV in 2060.
