How many of you played "don't fall into the lava" when you were little?

I played it! Granted, it was easier in our house than most American houses...we could crawl all over that thing like little monkeys.

Yes, but our game was better than yours. Ours didn't have couches and chairs, our game had trees and fences... walk along the top edge of a fence to cimb into a tree to jump down to the deck.

my 4 yr old son is obsessed with lava...not necessarily the game "don't fall into the lava", but mostly pretending to save his rescue heroes from lava traps.

We definately used to play this game... either you jumped from couch to couch or you would take the couch cushions off and put them on the floor and played that way. Both really fun either way. :thumbsup:

actually yeah we played it when I was a kid. unfortunately at the time (from age 6 to about 11) I developed a highly irrational fear of volcanoes...so, the game was more like preparation for the big eruption and my futile escape attempt than anything else

we played on the jungle gym at school, if you touched the tanbark you lost.

same concept for the monkey bars.

good times... they replaced all the fun rickety playgrounds with these plastic electric shock machines.

Nah.

We used to play fort though. We used these really spiky trees we have in Louisiana as weapons. Concrete, metal, rocks, sharpened sticks, cammo... It was great.

One time our "army" captured a kid from the other side. We had him gather things for us at stick-point. He tried to run once.

Let's just say he bled.

We played All On The Wall. Everybody lined up on the wall, while one or two people chucked kickballs at people. You couldn't lose contact with the wall for more than 5 seconds. Last person (or last two people) on the wall win, and get to chuck next round. A lot of crotch and face shots.

Also played a lot of teatherball. My friend Nathan and I were the playground champs at it, I had perfected a move which could wrap the ball around the pole in 4 seconds flat (if untouched by the opponent). I DID get beaned in the head ONE time by my own throw, I may have blacked out for a second or two.

Also in the later years of my elementary days, those nerf football rocket things became pretty popular... you know, the mini footballs with the long tail fins. I was undefeated in distance. The marker person, who stood at the opposite end of the playground, had to stand where the last throw landed. He couldn't move if he was going to get hit either :evil:

Yeah, we played it. Was this post in any way brought about by playing sand level in Half Life 2, since I made a very similar post on a different board after making it through the sand levels in that game.

I think I almost killed myself a few times avoiding the lava.

But alas, I am still here today.

although it was called "the soil is poissonous" over here. And it was combined with "catch" so you would need to move really fast around, and if you touched the soil you were the person who should catch someone.

Yeah, that game is awesome. We used to have rafts, too (little rugs), that could float on the lava.
