Just curious how the masses are dealing with today, I'm back into work for the day after Thanksgiving b/c everyone else wanted to do Black Friday but I don't get into it so I'm back for a day then off for the weekend.

Who was lucky enough to get a 4 day weekend or who got stuck going back into work? Feels like a formality being here today.

Here until noon. We either get day after Thanksgiving off or Christmas Eve off, I chose Xmas Eve.

I did. Why wouldn't I - the place is like a ghost town and I can still do some shopping online

I'm at work today. 10 hour shift, 9-7:30. We are technically considered 'critical personnel' so we have to be fully staffed. A lot of people called in sick though, and I've got nearly nothing to do.

Working today but I don't mind. I need the exercise after yesterday.

I worked yesterday, and am working today. Meh.

I took wednesday off though, only because I felt sick.

I can choose how much I want to work. However, the more I work, the more I get paid. If I work a full day, I earn about $2,000. What's particularly evil about my working situation is that I now weigh whether spending a day with my friends and family is worth a couple of grand in lost opportunity cost. Or whether playing that video game or watching that movie is worth a few hundred dollars. Consequently, I find myself working seven days a week until I exhaust myself.

I'm off today. We're cooking thanksgiving dinner #2, since we went to friends for dinner yesterday. I have the bird in the oven now, stuffing base made. Potatoes are waiting until the last hour to boil. Got cranberry sauce from whole foods, it's ridiculously good.

4 day weekend.

Though I'm currently enjoying the lovely sounds and rumbling of a construction crew right outside, busy filling in a long ditch that was made so they could repair an old and leaky section of pipe in the gas mains.

Assuming you are telling the truth you should work a standard 5 day work week for about 4-5 years and then go to working a set 2-3 days a month.

Trust me, after a certain point more money will not make you happier. It is the relationships you forge that will. Working too much destroys those relationships, and then all your money is cold comfort.
