How many paid "vacation days" do you get in a year?

WTF, you all have WAY too much time off



I accrue 40 paid hours a year (5 days) assuming I work 40's all year, plus federal holidays and one floating. How the hell do so many of you manage 20+ days??


I admit, I haven't been at the company all that long, but even for employees 5+ years it's only 10 days I think...


Oh yeah, and only 3 paid sick days a year (goes up to 5 after 5 yrs service)... and they DONT carry over year to year

20 paid vacation days.

Up to 3 "Goody" days (good attendance days: Earn 1 for each 6 months of the previous year that you had good attendance. Get an extra 1 for the entire year = 3). Goody day = paid day off.

13 to 14 holidays (depending on year).

This year, I have 20 vacation + 1 goody day (lost 2 because of hernia surgery last year) + 13 holidays.

Don't know how many sick days that I have. I've heard it's up to 45 "continuation" days per year but have never seen it in writing.

We just switched policies for sick leave.

old - 15 days vacation minimum (some are up to 25, depends on experience, but for me it is 16) + 9 holidays. Sick days were only counted if you were going to be gone extended periods of time

Now - 16 days + 6 sick days/paid time off days + 8-9 holidays.

People were abusing the policy and it was changed. It gives me an extra week off, but now I have to report all time taken for drs/dental/allergy visit, so the 6 days will be eaten up quick. But on the other hand I rarely get sick and it is usually sinus related.

37.5 hours family leave

= 44 days PTO (only counting the annual sick leave hours not my full bank)

and if i count all my leave including the stuff im carrying over to next year i have 95 days

i get 2 weeks, but my schedule is 2 weeks on and one week off. i work all 14 days of my 2 on and way more than 56 hours per week.

I think I might get 4 weeks starting this year since it's my 10th year. 6 personal days and unlimited sick days... I'm at home every damn day anyway... I think I actually took advantage once.

4 weeks = 20 days, + 12 holidays for 32 days

4 weeks vacation, 2 weeks sick time, 10 personal days but they really don't keep track of personal or sick days. I basically get a month off and can take a day whenever I need. Nobody abuses the system.

Currently: 10 days vacation, 10 days "Earned time" which we get because we have to work the holidays. One sick day a month, and I can get comp time instead of overtime pay, so I can take an additional 10 days off with that.
