Edit: Technically I have 16 process running since Task Manager only runs when you use it.

I'm on my nForce 2 IGP computer right now though. My usual system (gaming rig) would have 18 processes going.

Edit: Wow, what do you guys have running? I know I'm almost as low as I could possibly go, but I've done less! I always make an effort to disable all start-up apps, and all I have running at the moment is a single IE browser.

If you don't know how to find this out, press(this works with XP and 2000 I think, not sure baout older versions of windows) Ctrl-Alt-Del, then click the processes tab and count them.

There's no need to count them. it's already written out at the bottom of the Task Manager window. It says "Processes: 16". Ctrl-Alt-Del is probably easier, but you may also launch Task Manager by right clicking on the task bar (start menu/quick launch/running apps/clock area) and selecting Task Manager.

26. Task manager is one, AVG is 4, wireless nic config is one, AIM is one, IE is another. So I could get it down to 18 if I shut those down.
