I'm not sure it's possible to set the in buffer to 1000 and then have flushes every 100, but there are some options that can get you close to that. You can set the Additional Buffer Level checking to 3, and then set the Buffer Level Check Interval to the number of hours:minutes that it would take your cow to do 100 WUs.

The INI parms:

frequent-threshold-checks=3
threshold-check-interval=1:30

The interval is set to hours:minutes, in this example every 1 hour and 30 minutes the client will check for completed work, and if there is, it will flush.


I keep a bit more than 1 day's worth of blocks in my pproxy, and a day's worth at each cow, so if I cannot get blocks from a keyserver, I can go 2 days, and if my pproxy goes down, I've got 24 hours to fix or replace.

My proxy buffers 5000 blocks, almost 5 days worth. each cow buffers 2 hours worth, if my LAN goes down Im screwed...

12K mini and 15K maxi on the proxy, allowing 3 days always available.


Xtreme2k, its easy with a pproxy.
set minkeysready=1000, maxkeysready=2000, and maxkeysdone=100

it will make sure to always have between 1000 and 2000 keys buffered, and flush everytime 100 keys are done.
You just have your cow feed on your pproxy instead of direcly from the net.

If you happen to have multiple PCs that and net access for all of them is not possible or not open to the dnet client, then pproxy will be handy. Otherwise I won't worrry about it for a few PCs.

I have found the best way to deal with long holiday periods, is to daisy chain 2 pproxys,
you can then buffer 400k.

My TA Cube buffer is set at 2000 and the dialup disk updates as soon as a packet is finished when I'm connected. I don't spend more than 12 hours between connect (when I really need to sleep).

Every dial up will buffer 500 blocks, because they all connect at least once a day.
