100 people at 16 might be shocking, but at 40 I wouldn't find it shocking at all. It might fall somewhere inbetween depending on how your skills are. You gotta figure that if you lose your virginity at 18 and had sex with 4 people a year you'd be at 100 at 43. No real long term relationships and a couple good runs and you could hit it at 35 and not turn a head. At 25 you've just got some skills or a good supply of chloroform.
If you're butt ugly, a recluse, poor, uneducated, have no skills- then yeah it might be tough to comprehend.
All my friends in Europe were above 10 by the time they were 18. All my friends in the USA were either virgins or at 1 or 2. Cultural differences will affect the numbers too.
