Once for me. I paid a traffic citation a few days late. Didn't realise there was a $15 late fee, wasn't told of the late fee. 3 months later, I was pulled over and arrested for driving under a suspended license due to my unpaid $15 late fee.

Lol wow that's ridiculous. You'd think they could have just mailed you a bill or something instead of treating you like a criminal over $15.

Reminds me of that guy a few years back that got arrested over a late Blockbuster movies from the early 2000's. They were STILL after him for that lmao.

The courts don't care. Don't pay on time, get a bench warrant issued. I've got one on a customer now for a bad check. The solicitors office served her and she still didn't bother to pick it up. Years from now, she'll get pulled for a traffic violation...bam, jail.

Probably not because it was late but because he didn't return it at all. I've seen this happen in magistrates court.

Never. Did have a cop all up in my shit under a DUI suspicion. I "failed to dim my headlights to an oncoming officer". I was on the phone with my employer at the time. I was on call and one of our systems was having issues. Saw the cherries and blueberries behind me and told work I'd have to call them back. Officer got up in my face asking why I didn't dim my lights to an oncoming car (there wasn't one, he was on the side of the road camping out with his lights off) and I said I'm sorry sir, but I work in IT for the local hospital and one of our clinical systems was having issues. His response "What's IT?".

It went downhill from there. Had me get out of car, do all of the basic sobriety tests, shining lights in my eyes, screaming at me, the works. It was humiliating actually.
