Graduated HS in '91, mucked about for about 4.5 years during which I took a total of three courses, then finished up with 3.5 years of full-time schooling. Graduated in '99 with a BS in math.

Add 2.5 years more for the MS in Mech Eng.

7.5 years, but I have plenty of valid excuses. For all of the time I was in college I worked full time+; at one point I had three different jobs at the same time that I was taking 15 credit-hours of classes. I kept flip-flopping on majors, so eventually I decided to double major in both mathematics and software engineering, which meant that I ended up taking more classes than the average student. Also, somewhere in the middle of my college career I got married, which makes things even more busy and stressful for a student.

4.5 years. I changed majors twice - the first time at the beginning of junior year, the second time at the beginning of senior year. Ended up with enough credits for a degree and a half. After all that, still just ended up with a B.S.

3 1/2 years in engineering,
then after starting a math major at another school, I discovered that engineering credits are not transferable.
unfortunately, at school #1, almost all courses that engineers take are preceded by the ENG prefix so that other students weren't allowed in those sections.
So, as a math major, 3 more years of school, with a planned incomplete (otherwise I had to take the course the following year and delay graduation by a year) on a senior year project which I finished over the summer; received degree in Dec after that summer.

Undergrad = courses at 3 universities.

Grad work = Univ of Buffalo, Buffalo State, and Strayer Online.
way over 200 credit hours at this point, probably closing in on 300.

I hear ya. The 2nd time through, I went family + working full time + commuting to school (30 miles) + 18 or 19 credit hours. I was soooooo burnt out when I graduated. I was going to take a year off before looking for a job; but was offered a job without having to apply, so I took it.
