In the UK when I was at Uni, you were limited to borrowing a maximum of about £20k ($30K).

Doing pretty good considering I own 2 homes totalling 5200sqft, and 3 late model cars a nice boat and lots of toys. But I've been working hard and been very frugal for 30+yrs to get to this point.

I believe it's the government that keeps raising the ceiling and the universities raise the tuition to match, on and on and on.

Debt free, currently renting. Hope to have enough cash in 5 years to have a bought and paid for house. Depending on work/living situation, might be buying a house before that 5 year mark with a mortgage, but I plan to have whatever mortgage paid off within the 5 years.
