Yeah, not like JFK ever supported cutting taxes for the rich. I guess he wasn't a real Democrat.

1) Kennedy's (well, really Johnson as Kennedy was dead) tax cuts were across the board and the largest benefits went to the middle class, not the very rich. Conservatives just focus on the top marginal rate part because that's what they are primarily concerned with, cutting taxes for rich people. Had Trump proposed such a tax cut here instead of one almost exclusively targeted towards the ultra rich, I doubt Democrats would have been nearly so opposed.

2) He cut the top rate to 65%. I think you're right, Kennedy is a great model so let's restore his legacy and return the top rate to 65%.

Haha, clearly. Like I've said before, literally no one believes you. The idea that a left leaning person would be okay with a $1.5 trillion tax cut for which 83% of the benefits go to the top 1% of earners is not credible.

I don't know why you bother with silly lies like this. The only reason to say them is to enhance the credibility of the right wing talking points you're trying to propagate but when you're this transparently dishonest it just does the opposite.

Like I've said before, you guys have become the new conservatives. You substitute your own reality in place of actual reality. I'm being 100% honest with you, don't really care what you believe. It just goes to show me how right I am in thinking the left has jumped the shark lately... here I am telling you 100% truth and watching you deny it because it doesn't fit your overly leftest tunnel vision view of things.

Haha the lady doth protest too much. It reminds me of Trump where you can always tell he's about to lay down a particularly big lie when he starts something off with 'believe me!'.

Supporting a $1.5 trillion tax cut of which $1.25 trillion goes to the top 1% of Americans is simply not a 'left leaning' position or anything even remotely close to it. Being a gun rights fanatic is not a 'left leaning' position. Belief that white people are the true victims of racism is not a 'left leaning' position. You're either lying to us or lying to yourself. Either way it doesn't really matter as this is why no one believes you.

I would love for you to find a single, solitary person (who isn't an obvious troll) on this board who believes you are left leaning. I think that you will find both from your actions and your reputation as a liar, you can't.

slowspyder got destroyed in this thread.

Bandwagon cheerleading... nice touch. And I'd say not at all. Watching a bunch of people, that quite possibly pay less into the system than I do, argue that I need to pay more in taxes has been entertaining for me and helps reaffirm things.

If your cheering 85 dollars increase bi-weekly, you're not the target demographic for the 1.5 trillion deficit spending just passed.

What is your stance on abortion?
What is your stance on gay marriage?
What is your stance on immigration?
Do you support a larger military or a reduced military?
Do you support taxing the rich at higher rates than those less wealthy?
What is your stance on Social Programs like Food Stamps and Welfare?
Do you think Health care should remained privatized?

What does how much you pay in have to do with the debate of what our tax rate should be and how the government spends it? Based on how much you said you are getting back I pay significantly more into the system than you do. That doesn't make my opinion any more valid on this issue than yours.

We are all in this system together and we all want what is best for the country, we just have different opinions on what is best and how we get there.

You shouldn't bring how much money you make into this for two reasons:

1) It's tacky.
2) If you only got an $85 per pay period raise most people on this board probably make more than you do.

3) those people are going to see these savings going forward; whereas Slow will be seeing that $85 bi-weekly savings evaporate into a $10, $25, $60, $90 deficit over the following successive years.

Guess I don't make enough to be amongst the privileged. The tax plan added zero, zip, nada to my paycheck.

I think abortion should be legal and that when life starts shouldn't be determined for all by the christian right.

I'm all for consenting adults to be able to marry one another, I don't care if it is two men, two women, or a man and a woman.

I think we need a good process to get people that want to come here and contribute to become citizens. If someone is here illegally and causing problems or leaching, then they need to go. For those that want to contribute, a path to citizenship is probably a better option.

I think we spend too much on the military because we get too involved in other country's issues and play world cop.

I prefer a flat tax, but can see the rich paying some amount more so long as it is fair (which I realize can be very subjective).

I'm a realist and understand we need social programs, but I feel in America it has become, in many cases, a reward for doing nothing or not even trying and the programs are overused and often abused.

I prefer privatized healthcare in a perfect world, but with how costs have spiraled out of control I think eventually we're going to need a socialized system (barring major overhaul to rein in costs).

Lets just pay taxes on what percentage of all money you own. If you have 75% of all the money you pay 75% tax. If you only have .01% of all the money you only pay .01%. Easy peasy.....
which would need a constitutional amendment to do.

Another extremely flaccid attempt at gaslighting by our resident wanna-be gaslighter. Just because you got taken by drumpf doesn't mean the rest of us are that naive.

I never said I was a liberal. I said I lean left in a lot of ways and I preferred (slightly) Hillary to Trump for much of the election. I didn't think Trump would be any good, but to me so far he's been a mixed bag, but a lot of it is good. I do have a Libertarian streak in me, yes.

Welcome to the libertarian club. Seems like you’ve already come to recognize both right and left wingers are authoritarians who have built their entire worldview around childish and cartoony heuristics like “I’m for the little guy” or “family values” and are both dangerous for different reasons.

Yeah because team libertarian has a realistic worldview.

Don't kid yourself gramps, you are still on team stupid because team stupid doesn't have boundaries.
