Paid in stock options?
Google is proud to be an equal opportunity workplace and is an affirmative action employer.
Affirmative action and an equal opportunity employer? Isn't that kind of contradictory?
I'd think an experienced network engineer working at Google makes more than what you guys think.

Old college friend is a SW engineer there. Makes just little more than me at 85k year. They dont pay as well as people would think. 85k a year is like min wage in Cali.

To add another data point, my friend started at Google a couple of years ago as a software engineer making a bit over $100k.
I don't see how what the stock is trading at really matters. As I mentioned before, I wonder what kind of stock options the employees get? Does google match doller-to-dollar what employees put into google stock?
With stocks trading in the $600 price range, that is a good bit of money.
