I maxed 401K/Roth since I started working right out of college

In the case of securies, "interest" and "growth" are usually interchangable terms.

All I know is $100/month from my pay is going somewhere, plus whatever the military already deducts for pension and shit.

And I put $1000/month into a savings account.

I simply don't have time to figure out this investing shit. It's all way above my head.

It's definitely worth the effort though. I'm 27 and I've got about $12,000 in my 401k.

Well a lot of it depends on where you live. If you put away 10% of your income and you live in San Francisco, you're going to be doing a lot better than I would at 10% here in Mississippi.

Well, that depends on if you make more or less than he/she does. If you make more (ore even the same), I would suggest that you are doing better because of the cost of living.
