FIOS new customer deals, are triple play with Gigabit FIOS internet, for $79.99, with a 2-year agreement.
Sounds like you need to get a temp / backup internet, for a short period (like 1 month or so), cancel your FIOS, and re-sign as a new customer. I did that last year, to get a better deal.
I can't imagine paying $150/mo for FIOS, and only getting 75/75 internet. I don't even know if they offer that to new customers anymore, it's so slow.
Edit: Not trying to "pick on" your internet speeds. For a one or two people, 75/75 is probably enough. I had 75/75 for years on FIOS myself, when I had MOCA WAN configured from my ONT.
Just pointing out, that they provision gigabit ethernet from the ONT now, and offer up to Gigabit (940/880Mb/sec) speeds, for less than your paying now, IF you can manage to snag a new-customer deal.
If you have a high-end TV package, though, or cablecards, then cancelling your existing service might not be the greatest idea. Also, they charge rent for the routers for new subs, currently $12/mo, IF you don't supply your own. Check ebay for highly-rated sellers, make sure to get a "Verizon" unit with "Verizon Firmware". NOT "Frontier", or cross-flashed. Those won't work on VZ, long-term.
